So close yet so far!

Races 14 & 15

Brands Hatch for the penultimate Civic Cup Official round was an absolute rollercoaster.

We started the day struggling with poor braking which hindered me during qualifying, nonetheless P6 on the grid was a solid place to start.

After a 7th place finish in race 1 we were left scratching our heads as the car was not handling how I wanted it to, costing us a few tenths a lap. As a team we decided to gamble with a big change on the car for race 2!

After an absolute rocket ship of a start I found myself in 1st place from 4th and a great opening lap gave me a big lead over the field. Unfortunately, the safety car was deployed which took my advantage away. I managed to hold the lead for a couple of laps but then made a small mistake which allowed 2nd place to get alongside me. During this battle I made slight contact with another car which bent my front right suspension taking me out of the race with two laps to go…

The end result is disappointing but we made a big step forward and I can’t wait to get back out for the final round at Snetterton!
