Pembrey September 2021

Wow what a weekend! Round 7 of the Junior Saloon Car Championship and our 3rd race weekend treated us very well. Two podiums, an amazing qualifying and even challenging for the lead in race 3, the only one to do so against Charlie Hand 55 in the past 6 races!

Qualifying:

A huge amount of track time on Friday gave me a high amount of confidence in the car and track and 3 very close times put us in P3 for race one and P2 for both races on Sunday

Race 1 – P25

Suffering with a car issue I headed into the pits at the end of lap 1, I was sent back out and finished the race although 1 lap down there wasn’t much I could do to bring it back to the front

Race 2 – P3

After the previous days mishaps I went out with a point to prove, A great start meant we could slot in behind Charlie and pull away from the pack, Unfortunately a mistake at T1 lost us a position into P3 and then a saftey car and red flag left us no chance to go for a return move, Nonetheless officially our first podium in the series and a big confidence boost for the next race

Race 3 – P2

A perfect start for myself and a poor one for Charlie got me into the lead into the first corner, from then a few qualifying pace laps pulled me and P2 away from the rest of the pack, After a few laps Charlie sent a move into T1 and after an entire lap side by side he pulled through ahead and I did my best to keep with him, a few mistakes dropped us back two seconds but we came home with P2, Our best ever result and a 1-2 for the team!

In two weeks time we head to Donington Park for the penultimate round of the championship and two 20 minute races, It’s gonna be a good one so make sure to tune in

Massive thanks to my team Westbourne Motorsport for all their hard work, My coach Ed Pead, James and Ben Colburn, my mechanic Marcus and all of my sponsors that have got me to this point, without you this wouldn’t be possible
